there are those you would characterise as left groupthinkers who don't think the way you suggest.
i don't really believe in mass victim groups, except in extreme circumstances. to create such a large group requires an immense number of victimisers. i don't see that group all the way around america.
but there are particular instances of nastiness done by bad people. and i have sympathy for the victims in those cases. if folks choose to express their feelings about that while kneeling during the national anthem, so be it.
the folks who think the police people are endemically racist misunderstand the cause of the problem, in my view.
1. the correlation between poverty and police misdeeds is stronger than race, as i understand things.
2. police operating guidelines tell them to shoot first and worry about the courts later.
these two things may give the appearance of racial motivation without the need for racial motivation in reality. black people are poorer than white people on average and so will get killed more frequently.
maybe cops fear black people more than white people because they accept the simplistic perception of the statistics, which exacerbates the issue.
