It surely isn't hard to get someone to bake you a white cake with ribbons and flowers and you buy your own plastic husband statues to stick on top.

To me, it sounds like the cake maker is being singled out for attorney bullying by the gay lobby. So it's more of this conversation narrowing thing I keep complaining about.

Leave people alone, for Gawd's sake. Quit pretending you are a victim. It's a cake, not Auschwitz. The world isn't perfect. Suck it up and move along. Unless you also want lawyers in your bedroom, because those guys will take fees wherever they are offered them.

The cake ain't gay. But rights overlap. Religious rights are in the famous Bill. There are others there as well.

But forget that.

I'm with the Christians on this, though I don't like their idea of morality. If you have a quirky belief, you shouldn't be made to create cake art for folks who don't believe it.

It's not that it isn't offensive to deny your cake art to a gay couple. But who needs lawyers defining whether a Christian cake-maker can make a gay cake. There are going to be little situations like this in a free country. You don't need a court to settle everything. Force a cake-maker to bake a cake he doesn't want to and you are not removing the issue: you just internalise the cake-maker's rage. And make all Christians feel like victims of the gay lobby.

Go and find a cake-maker who wants your business.
