Here is a webpage showing rainfall totals for the Houston area since the beginning of the storm. The Katy area, where our son lives, shows nearly 29 inches as of 9:00am CDT this morning.

...there are folks out there going to their attics to get out of the water. Not a good idea. If the water gets deep enough you can't get out of your attic and you will drown. Tell him to be careful.
