Maybe a solution to the statue issue is to remove them to a history park.
It would be quite fun to have a space where folks can view all sorts of statues, and classes of students can go with their teachers to gaze at them and wonder.
The lesson? Perhaps one of them is about vanity, that there's nothing new under the sun; and yet how perspectives and morality change with the elapse of time. Someone once thought great may one day be brought low for reasons beyond his or her understanding. We have an hour upon the stage. No more.
Nothing is written for all time. Stone gradually weathers. Bronze decays. Empires wither.
Remember Ozymandias and what that poem tells us about time and permanence? Perhaps that should be placed at the entrance to the park as a reminder of life's irony.
