Hi csl,

Golly. It sounds like you are swallowing the Hannity-Trump-Jones lines whole. I guess it works, then. Tell people to disbelieve what they see, and many are willing to do so. Here's the list of Trump's recent crazy.

Here's what one Republican magazine had to say recently:

"Trump is careening out of control. He says what he wants, when he wants, and neither truth nor consistency nor wisdom nor prudence dictates a single syllable that comes out of his mouth. By many accounts he’s taken to directly defying his advisers simply for the sake of declaring that he’s in charge. This isn’t leadership. It’s a collection of temper tantrums. Unfortunately, those tantrums have consequences. One final note – if Trump thinks this tweet is the least bit intimidating to actual jihadists, he’s fundamentally wrong. In fact, it illustrates that he flat-out doesn’t understand our enemy. They respond to actions not words, and words like this serve only to facilitate the radicalization of angry jihadist minds. In one tweet Trump spread fake history, libeled an American hero, and signaled a willingness – even eagerness – to commit war crimes. That’s conduct unbecoming the lowliest officer in the military. Coming from the commander-in-chief, it’s a complete disgrace."

Yes. That's National Review. The National Review magazine, conservative gospel. I guess you can ignore the perspective of liberals easily enough, but these are your own people. Time to wake up?

It's fair enough to be sceptical of the opinion polls, but personally, I think they are telling the tale just about right of where the country as a whole is, just as they did the election majority. But there were more Trump voters in the swing states than anyone expected and I haven't yet seen a good explanation for it, other than the Comey damage.

Anecdotes aside, I think the polls show support for this president is falling apart. At best, he squeaked in as a minority incumbent. His performance has been so poor that folks on the margin are running away as fast as they can. The only thing holding his numbers as high as they are is that he hasn't yet destroyed Obama's economy. That just needs a bit more time.

It is an uphill battle. They are up against Democrats, establishment Republicans, the media and academia. They are fighting the good fight and against the odds are actually winning people over.

What I see is the left moving from one "fake" issue to the next in their effort to obstruct. The Russia collusion farce didn't work so now they are falling back on the old reliable race card. It is now so obvious it isn't working anymore. Despite what polls may say Trump support is growing and more resolved than ever.
