At any rate, the Republican civil war is right out in the open now. And its sub-plot, the fight for leadership of the alt-right. In the red corner, Steve Bannon. In the orange corner, Donald Trump.
The alt-right is now the biggest slice of Republican support, in my view. It is seemingly an attractive proposition for Republican voters. Who would have guessed that the party would find a wing more extreme than the wingnuts of yesteryear? But they have.
Apologies for my mistake about Bannon. He's going to be far more politically entertaining on the outside.
