And well they should worry. When 0bama was in power, Republicans must have voted in favor of repealing Obamacare a dozen times, knowing full well that it wouldn't be signed. Today, it's clear that many who voted to repeal didn't really mean it. They're a bunch of hypocrites who need to be held to account.
I hate to start this new board by agreeing with a Farter, but in this case I do.
The proper course of action for the G.O.P. is to repeal Obamacare - perhaps with a two year delay, as President Trump has recommended - and THEN vote for new legislation to fix various issues in our country's health system.
While Obamacare exists, no Democrat is going to support changes to healthcare. But once Obamacare is gone, Democrats WILL begin supporting Republican legislation on the subject. What Democrat would vote against a bill giving, for instance, lifelong health coverage for the injuries suffered by wounded vets? Right now, they'd oppose such a thing, arguing that Obamacare exists. But without Obamacare, I think they'd jump at a chance to support a bill like this. They might even start drafting the legislation themselves. THAT is how bipartisan government is supposed to work. But right now, bipartisanship is D.O.A.
The Republicans who oppose repealing Obamacare should all be thrown out of office. That's something the voters will have to do.
