Well it turns out that the 'bare-bones' insurance policies that the so-called "Cruz Amendment" would allow would not be sufficient enough to be considered as a "qualifying policy" and therefore, even if you had paid your premiums for years, if you were to suddenly come down with something NOT covered by that minimal policy, you would be BARED from purchasing an insurance policy that actually did cover your condition. In other words, if you purchase one of those cheap(er) bare-bones policies you would be legally giving-up any chance of having a pre-existing condition covered by even an albeit much more expense policy for a minimum of six months, which under many circumstances, could prove to be a death sentence or lead to bankruptcy.
