As far as fighters, look at the F-18s and 15s and 16.
These older jets are still quite capable of making short work out of anything else in the skies opposing them.
Down there in Virginia Beach, does the Navy still constantly do the touch and go training daily with the F-18s coming in over the beach to simulate the landing on a carrier???
I love seeing them coming in from out over the ocean a couple hundred feet above our heads.....
Plenty of great fighters to choose from and yes sir, I like the idea of one jet being specific in its specialty and being the very best at it....
