Michelle Carter, who sent texts to teen boyfriend urging him to kill himself, found guilty of involuntary manslaughter
Massachusetts woman Michelle Carter, 20, broke down in tears Friday morning as she was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter after goading her former boyfriend into killing himself.
Carter's boyfriend, 18-year-old Conrad Roy III, died in 2014 after inhaling carbon monoxide while seated in his car. Prosecutors said Carter, then 17-years-old, had been in constant contact with Roy in the hours leading up to his death.
She now faces up to 20 years in prison when she's sentenced on Aug. 3.
