My big hope is that the US and the Commonwealth realms (UK, NZ, Australia, Canada) could sign a trade and travel agreement. A group bound by a language, Anglo-Saxon law and a foreign policy outlook (much of the time). With the Commonwealth republics as a series of satellites (India, South Africa etc). An economic block of more than 2 1/2 bn people.
