I think Trump's tweets to the mayor of London harmed May.
She wasn't forceful enough against Trump.

After Hillary's loss, I understand how stunned you feel.

The Conservative Party lost its majority in the British Parliament, weakening its negotiating hand as "Brexit" talks begin
Friday, June 9, 2017 1:59 AM EDT

Prime Minister Theresa May of Britain suffered a major setback in a tumultuous election on Thursday, losing her overall majority in Parliament and throwing her government into uncertainty less than two weeks before it is scheduled to begin negotiations over withdrawing from the European Union.

Mrs. May, the Conservative leader, called the snap election three years early, expecting to cruise to a smashing victory that would win her a mandate to see Britain through the long and difficult negotiations with European leaders over the terms of leaving the union.

It sounds like a hung parliament. But one that will require another election very soon.

I am not really sure what happened there. I don't understand why people voted for the right-wing populist Trump or the Marxist populist Corbyn.

I used to sorta think I understood the way electorates thought about politics. I saw where Thatcher and Reagan came from and why folks elected Clinton and Blair. I also thought I understood the elections of Bush, Cameron and Obama.

But I am afraid those days are over. Electorates seem suddenly more moth-like.

I don't think it ends well for the ideas we have lived by during my lifetime. Maybe some new defining principles will emerge. But there are no easy answers to political problems which I know of.
