Hi clo,

If we are talking about the EU, I have a little more sympathy for Trump. The EU's an arrogant, bloated bureaucracy with an unswerving imperial intent.

For myself, I prefer a Europe of sovereign countries united by commerce. I don't conflate the EU (a bureaucracy) with Europe (a geographical region with all sorts of different cultures within it).

The British have been at odds with the imperial European idea since Caesar came for a visit. This isn't a new issue.

But Trump is a dreadful pick for president and representative of the US, as we both know. So however respectful of sovereignty the German Chancellor is, I am sure they will be uncomfortable with Trump.

The free world impatiently awaits the end of the term of the US Mussolini. When the adults get back in charge.
