It's being reported that a three-person Fox News film crew witnessed the entire incident and that they are backing the story as told by the reporter, Ben Jacobs of the Guardian, that he was attacked and thrown to the ground, and then punched and kicked by Gianforte for no apparent reason other than he was asked a question that he did not want to answer.
And it appears that there it a police investigation under way.
It's going to be hard for the GOP to put any sort of spin on this since it's FOX NEWS that is now providing the most complete and detailed report of what happened and they have three eye-witnesses backing it up. The problem is that the election is tomorrow and so many of the voters will go to the polls with no idea what happened. Of course, if the candidate is seen being hauled out of his campaign headquarters in handcuffs that's not going to be good TV for him.
