Liberman, while he has a law degree, only worked as a lawyer for three years before he won his first election to the Connecticut Senate. He has spent is entire career as an elected official. That being said, he did serve as the Attorney General for the state of Connecticut for six years. Since his retirement from the Senate in 2013, he's been working as an attorney in various roles in both criminal defense and political consultative organizations.
But he has no actual law enforcement or investigative activities except for his six years as a states attorney general.
