It kinda seems a new problem with the US Constitution has revealed itself.

It comes back to democratic selection. But it turns out the US President is above the law. And if the people elect an idiot, there's almost nothing to be done about it.

He can say - there's no conflict of interest for me - and be right about it.

He can say - I am allowed to share state secrets with Russia - and no one can say it ain't so.

I think the US needs a real-time constitutional council to ensure the President is subject to law. He needs to answer to someone on such matters, not post-facto as per the Supreme Court, but in real time. Let him appeal against their injunctions to the Supreme Court.

It's already clear that Congress is unable to play such a role.
