April 23rd seemed as good a day to start this board as any other. On this day in history:

In 1896, the Vitascope system for projecting movies onto a screen was publicly demonstrated in New York City;

In 1958, the film noir thriller "Touch of Evil," starring Charlton Heston, Janet Leigh and Orson Welles, who also directed, was released; and,

April 23, 1564, is believed to be the birthdate of English poet and dramatist William Shakespeare; he died 52 years later, also on April 23.

This is a place for people who love the performing arts to meet and discuss and enjoy the show. We will be posting as much material from YouTube as we can find. We welcome others to bring their favorites here as well. We have included Broadway and the television industry in this catagory to be as inclusive as we can. This board takes its title from the great love affair between Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogard that lasted until the end of his life in 1956, and, long after that for her!

A first weekend update. This board is probably best viewed if one, especially if its your first time here, simply goes to the first post and moves forward from there. Most all of the posts are links to movie clips from Youtube, so, you can enjoy the show! We are striving to be as diverse as possible and offer as much variety as we can. There are so many fine movies out there to list that we may never get to all of them.
