At least 27 people are dead after a shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, according to the Associated Press.

At least 18 children were among those killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School, according to the news service, which cited an unidentified official with knowledge of the situation. The shooter is dead and had two guns, the AP said. CNN said the shooterâ€™s body was found in a classroom.
