Los Angeles, CA – A college professor who went on a racist rant against a Latino sheriff’s deputy who stopped her for using her cell phone while driving has gone viral for her hateful behavior (video below).

The incident occurred in April when a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy stopped a driver who was allegedly using her cell phone while driving, FOX News reported.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) deputies are not yet equipped with bodycams but the deputy told KTTV that he had purchased a bodycam “to protect himself on the job.”

The video began with the woman yelling at the deputy wanting to know why she was being “harassed today” before he even got to her car after the stop.

Before he could say anything, the driver informed the deputy that she had been going under the speed limit when he stopped her.

“You are correct,” the deputy agreed in a friendly tone as he approached the driver’s window. “I pulled you over because…”

“Because you’re a murderer,” the woman, who is black, interrupted him.

“And yes, I started to record because you’re a murderer,” she said in the video.

“You can’t be on your cell phone while you’re driving,” the officer explained as if she hadn’t just insulted him.

“I wasn’t on my phone,” she cut him off again in the video. “I was recording you because you scared me.”

“May I have your driver’s license?” the deputy asked in the video, never altering his friendly tone.

“It’s at my apartment […] It’s at my home. I’m just taking my son to his…” the woman explained.

“Do you have your driver’s license?” the deputy asked.

“I mistakenly left it at home,” she told him.

“Do you have a picture of your driver’s license?” the deputy asked in the video.

“Yes I do!” she chirped.

“May I have it?” the deputy asked politely.

“And can you call your supervisor, please,” the woman ordered him.

“I already did, he’s on his way,” the deputy told her in the video.

“Good,” she replied. “Cuz you’re a murderer.”

“Okay,” the deputy said, appearing nonplussed.

Then she accused him of harassing her by citing her for using her phone while she was behind the wheel, the video showed.

“It’s not harassment. I am enforcing the law,” he explained.

“I have a right to record the police when they’re harassing me,” the woman insisted in a shrill tone.

“By all means, but you can’t do it while you’re driving,” the deputy patiently told her.

“I was, I can,” the woman sputtered in the video. “I wasn’t texting or none of that, and you scared me and made me think you’re going to murder me.”

Still the deputy didn’t react to the patently false allegations.

“Okay, well, I’m sorry you feel that way,” he began in the video.

“It’s not just a feeling – you’re a murderer,” she told him firmly.

“Okay,” he replied, and then asked her to zoom her phone so he could read the details on her driver’s license.

“And I’m perfectly legal and I’m a teacher, so there,” the woman informed him.

“Congratulations,” the deputy replied.

“And you’re a murderer,” she said again.

The deputy asked her to hold the phone still and the woman claimed she was shaking because the deputy was going to kill her, the video showed.

“You’re scaring me,” the woman told the polite law enforcement officer who had yet to raise his voice at her.

“You’re threatening to kill me and my son,” she claimed out of nowhere.

The video showed the deputy kept his cool despite the wild ravings of the emotional driver.

“I’ll tell you what,” the deputy said. “You keep smiling – you’re on camera.”

“You’re trying to threaten to kill me,” the woman ranted.

“Is this your car?” the deputy asked calmly.

“Yes it is. You’re trying to say I stole my own car because you’re jealous,” the driver accused him.

“I don’t think so,” the deputy replied.

“You’re jealous,” the woman claimed again.

The deputy asked the woman to wait in her car and when his supervisor arrived, he had the official explain the citation to the driver, the video showed.

Then the ever-polite deputy asked the woman to sign the citation.

“For him being a Mexican racist – what is that name?” the woman asked, looking at the deputy’s nametag.

“Sign the citation, ma’am,” he told her.

“Here you go, Mexican racist,” she said as she signed the citation, the video showed.

“You’re always gonna be a Mexican, you’ll never be white,” she raved at him, again totally unprovoked.

“You know that, right?” the woman asked when she got no reaction. “You’ll never be white. Which is what you really want to be.”

The deputy showed no reaction to the driver’s racist tirade and continued to perform his job in a professional manner, the video showed.

“There you go,” he said, handing her a copy. “Have a good day.”

“You want to be white. You want to be white so bad,” the woman called at him as he walked away from her vehicle.

The sheriff’s department told KTTV that right after she was cited, the woman immediately filed a harassment complaint against the deputy.

LASD said the woman had a history of filing false complaints against sheriff’s deputies.

The driver was identified by hundreds of social media users and TB Daily News as Kalunda-Rae Iwamizu.

She has also gone by Kalunda Jenkins, according to multiple sources.

Iwamizu was telling the truth when she said she was a teacher in the video – it turned out she is an assistant professor of English at Los Angeles Southwest College.

Her name was scrubbed from the school’s directory after her racist rant went viral, TB Daily News reported.

But a search of the school’s website confirmed Iwamizu’s affiliation with the college.

She has regularly posted anti-police rants on her social media and recently posted that her autistic son had been abused by his caregiver but said she wasn’t reporting it because she didn’t want social workers snooping around her house, TB Daily News reported.

LASD Sheriff Alex Villanueva said he was very impressed with the deputy’s handling of the woman’s racist tirade and commended him for remaining professional throughout it, FOX News reported.

“She claims to be a teacher. I’m not so sure where she is teaching… but if she represents her profession, is that an indictment on her profession and the caliber of people?” Sheriff Villanueva asked.

“You have one incident like George Floyd… but some people want to label the entire profession as if everyone was a Derek Chauvin,” the sheriff continued. “It shows you that bigotry, racism comes in all, colors and all ages — that’s proof of that right there. If you want to call all of the deputies murderers, unfortunately, you are doing the exact same thing you’re accusing other people of doing against your own kind.”

http://twitchy.com/brettt-3136/2021/05/03/she-was-really-baiting-him-teacher-calls-latino-cop-a-murderer-during-traffic-stop-says-youll-never-be-white/

We’ve seen a few stories cross our timeline about police officers quitting the force, citing the current environment and a lack of support from above. As Twitchy reported, after the fatal shooting of Daunte Wright, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota Mayor Mike Elliot announced that he doesn’t believe police officers necessarily need a weapon every time they make a traffic stop. They don’t necessarily need a weapon when responding to a domestic disturbance either, but it’s a damn good idea to have one. Or just let the social workers take point.

Here’s a traffic stop caught on bodycam, brought to us by journalist Bill Melugin, that didn’t require a weapon, but did require a great amount of restraint on the part of the police officer. So this is a teacher?

Bill Melugin ~ NEW: "You're always gonna be a Mexican, you'll never be white, you know that?"

A Latino LASD deputy sent me his bodycam video of a woman claiming to be a teacher launching into a racist tirade against him when he pulled her over in San Dimas. She repeatedly calls him a murderer.
http://twitter.com/i/status/1389345964658348032

Bill Melugin ~ LASD also tells me the woman has a history of making false complaints against deputies.
I've learned what her name is, and she has been a professor at schools in the LA area, but at this time, I will not be identifying her because she has not returned any of my calls or emails.

A professor? No way!

Bill Melugin ~ L.A. County Sheriff Alex Villanueva tells me he is proud of his deputy for staying calm and professional during this interaction. I will be live on @FoxNews this evening with this story, beginning with @TuckerCarlson.

Harry Khachatrian ~ The cop deserves a raise and promotion for such insane degree of restraint.

Leo ~ And her first call is to 911 if she needs help. The irony.

Mark Higbee ~ Insanity on full display. The scary thing was, she claimed to be a teacher. Does anyone want their kids taught by this woman?

Bryant Hemphill ~ Please sign me up for her class. Then again she's a teacher in California, so she'll be getting a teacher of the year award and an activism award at the Oscar's next year.

GreenSalsa ~ Police departments should start collecting these types of encounters and show them to the public. The vast majority of Americas have no idea of these conditions.

Going public with this was a good start.

Kelly Maglothin ~ Taking her kid to therapy. I'm not surprised.

Clay Travis ~ Look at what this cop had to deal with in LA. This is the environment we’ve created by demonizing police.

S k y ~ I mean. Call it like it is. She’s a black teacher who’s openly being a racist towards a Hispanic officer.

Anne Cassity ~ What a shrew. That woman is a horrible human being. If she is married I feel sorry for her beat down husband. Wow, I wish I could articulate how I feel about that witch.

Snackie ~ So much restraint shown. I don’t think I could have kept that calm. She was really baiting him.

Zack Irons ~ "This cop is next." -LeBron

Flipper Sanderson ~ All in front of her kids ... where do you think they get it?

Patrick ~ Cop handled that so well. She did everything possible to trigger him. She was extremely rude and disrespectful and even racist. Hope he doesn’t have to deal with too much of this shit.

Mark Davies ~ The more I watched the angrier I got. That officer is a saint!

Arthur Bucco ~ This is sick and it’s only going to get worse, unfortunately.
