If you didnt put Sta-Bil in your fuel, its time to clean out the fuel system. Drain the tank and blowe out the lines with compressed air. While not using, run it, shut off the fuel and let it runs till it dies,,,,,,,,,,,

And this POS ethanol gas if left untreated turns into something that looks like sugar in your carb bowl and plugs the main jet tight. Thats the worst thing to do to gas. Keeps mechanics in a job for sure..........

I'm soliciting advice from someone with more mechanical knowledge than I have.

My 20-year-old snow blower has been sitting outside with a tarp over it for about a year. When I tried it in November, it wouldn't start and I haven't touched it since. I did notice that the little rubber primer (the thing you pump 5 times before starting) isn't leaking fuel when I overpump, and that's something it used to do, so I suspect that gas isn't getting from the tank to the spark plug.

This week, I replaced the spark plug, and today I sprayed it liberally with starter fluid. Vroom! The blower started on the first pull! Five seconds later, it puttered out.

I can repeat that. I'm pretty sure at this point that there's either a clog or a leak keeping fuel from getting to the engine. What's the best way to correct this?
