One thing is clear. The GOP is terrified of their exposure over K and panicking about how to deal with it. Grassley wants to pass the turd to McConnell as quickly as possible. McConnell wants to get the vote done before anyone has time to change their position. The senators have to decide if they want to commit career suicide as this is going to be a massive issue until the court is rebalanced.
But they will have the vote because this is the climax of a 30 year project to make the Supreme Court a Republican toy. They don't care if this guy was a sexual attacker. They only care about having five votes.
McConnell is going to be a name remembered in infamy. So is Grassley.
