The one thing that scares me the most about calling for another Constitutional Convention . . .

Is the fact that the same turds wiping their butts with the Constitution
would be the ones writing a new one.

It has been a while since I posted my thoughts and recommendations for consideration on this issue.

One fundamental consideration that was not issued in any discussion, nor by those supporting such a call is:

To what avail ?

The current United States Constitution is almost universally disregarded by the Congress, the Supreme Court, and in very large part by the Executive Branch (especially the very existence of law-making 'regulatory agencies' such as the IRS - that one must consider the futility of making a call for improving the current Constitution.

Examples:

The so-called '60 votes' needed by the Senate to pass new legislation. This is in BLATANT violation of the the simple majority specified ayes-and-nays for passing legislation. The Senate deems it appropriate to IGNORE the Constitutionally mandated method by imposing their 'own rule' of 60 votes needed to terminate discussion. They justify this to themselves by claiming the Senate can make it's own rules for procedures and thus call it 'legal'. It is NOT - it is a blatant modification of the original Constitution and their 'end run nullification' is a defacto - TOTALLY ILLEGAL - amending of Constitutional requirements through illegal means.

Another example: The FISA Court - a totally UNCONSTITUTIONAL COURT. Secret courts, with witnesses that can not be confronted in open court violate every single amendment (5- 8 ) designed to ensure that the basic, GOD GIVEN RIGHTS, of every citizen can not be violated by a corrupt judicial system.

If there had been ANY doubt about the foolishness of such a court prior to now, recent events should have more than dis-abused any and all of such ill considered abandonment of our Constitution. Attempting to cloak it under the guise of 'National Security' are not sufficient to outweigh the very REAL AND PRESENT DANGER to our Republic that such a distopian court system should ever be allowed. The ability of thugs to manipulate this court and hide treasonous activities should be readily apparent to even the most brain dead of us.

In addition - most of the Patriot Act, commmunications surveillance without specific warrant (under the guise of "it is just metadata" have also revealed themselves to be very able tools adaptable and abusable by tyrants and dictators.

The abdication of responsibility to enact laws by the US Congress to an un-regulated and uncontrolled and uncontrollable (by WE THE PEOPLE) bureaucracy (ie. most of the executive branch) is also totally unacceptable, and fundamentally violates our right to govern ourselves through ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES whom WE vested, SOLELY, in our Contstitution with the responsibility of legislation.

Just a few of the things sticking in my craw recently.

Summary: "If the damned government refuses to obey the CURRENT CONSTITUION, as written, of what possible use is it to convene an Article V Convention of the States to make modifications that will STILL, most certainly, be ignored ????
