To be fair, he's an unusual American. Not like many others.

I've said before he's the American id, which isn't short for idiot but is all about aggression and instinct.

Other folks, including Americans, have modifying aspects to their psyche. He does not. There's no shame. No rational thought. No compassion. But there is the wish for control and the strange dependence on compliments.

In terms of government, it's all about transactions because there's nothing else in there.
