By the way, one might wonder why the Dems are launching this suit rather than waiting for Mueller.

It seems pretty obvious. They think the Republicans will not proceed against Trump, regardless of the strength of the evidence against him. So they are taking the issues into a US court, so that ultimately, the matter will come before the Supreme Court. At least there, the law will be considered seriously.

That alone ought to encourage seriousness in Congress, lest the Republican party itself is seen to be a conspirator in the obstruction. The complaint makes it plain that the Dems are drawing the GoP into the web of deceit.

Yes, but amidst the chaos, we discover he asked the Russians which buildings to target in Syria.

This is why the Russians didn't interfere. It was all pretend. And he was able to use the pretense of toughness to ditch the sanctions he was previously "contemplating".

Basically, Putin got everything he wanted.
