Mr. Monk,
The Guru at work recommended AOMEI backup software.

If your hard drive does not have that much stuff on
it, it can make a bootable USB stick then one can
create an AOMEI image of it and store it on the stick.

(Then replace the hard drive with a new one, and restore
the image onto it. Leaving the original H.D. intact
just in case.)

I've used it quite a bit where I work.

Freeware too.

P.S. One can also copy disk to disk with it, and
one can create a backup image of a hard disk to
another hard disk.

And, I think AOMEI can also be set up such that it
will automatically back up ones hard drive to another
drive . . .
