Wave’s Trusted Computing Vision
Shared By Industry Leaders

The major suppliers in the personal computer, mobile devices and consumer electronics ecosystem are now a part of an important industry effort — rapidly gaining momentum — that is aimed at making all digital devices more secure. Trusted hardware — with secure software rather than software-only solutions — is seen as the most effective combination to leverage security options that are effective and useful to end users.

Influential companies including Intel, Microsoft, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, AMD, Sony and Sun Microsystems and many others have made firm commitments to hardware-based Trusted Computing through participation in the Trusted Computing Group (TCG)

Earlier, the Trusted Computing Platform Alliance (TCPA) defined a semiconductor device known as the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) to serve as a root of trust for the PC platform. The Trusted Computing Group has adopted the TCPA specifications and is now positioned to drive a broader set of trustworthy computing initiatives across multiple platforms aimed at unleashing the next generation of Internet opportunities.

Wave Systems conceptualized and developed many of the key elements of a comprehensive trusted computing ecosystem with its Trust System. The development and deployment of this technology strengthened Wave’s capabilities to adopt the new TCG standards for hardware based Trusted Computing. Wave Systems has adapted and is developing its breakthrough trusted computing technologies to support the Trusted Computing Group’s specifications and opportunities.

As a leader in delivering trusted computing applications, services, and infrastructures across multiple trusted platforms, Wave’s business objective is to focus its unique portfolio of assets based on the industry’s accelerating adoption of Trusted Computing. Today, through a growing range of strategic relationships with major industry leaders, Wave is delivering its EMBASSY Trust Suite (ETS) of applications, middleware and services, first to enterprises and eventually across all customer segments. The EMBASSY Trust Suite provides the industry’s only multi-vendor TPM based applications and development products. By adhering to a cross platform-based approach to Trusted Computing, Wave is assisting its customers with evolutionary growth and interoperability while relying on broadly supported industry initiatives. This philosophy allows application developers to easily enable and support the Trusted Computing initiatives. Application capabilities of the ETS help the enterprise users to leverage their training and knowledge to not only be productive, but also to be secure, as they adopt the Trusted Computing platforms. Wave’s ongoing commitment to ease of use, seamless integration and alignment into the existing business process is a cornerstone requirement for adoption of these platforms. Wave has defined a pioneering role as a solution provider for hardware and services that has put us in an anchor position in the evolution of this substantial market opportunity.
